Turner Staffing Group, established in 2022 as the sister company to Turner Mining Group, specializes in connecting skilled professionals with employers in the mining, heavy civil construction, and AEC industries across the United States.
After working with TSG on their initial website build in 2022, it was time to expand the content and functionality of the site to reflect their refined vision for the company. Phase 2 of the website expands on Turner Staffing Group’s services, emphasizes their expertise in hiring logistics, and appeals to both employers seeking skilled talent and employees looking for job opportunities in mining, construction, and AEC industries.

Challenges
The initial Turner Staffing Group website consisted of a minimal, three-page, text-based design that lacked job board capabilities.
The website needed to balance content for two distinct audiences: industry-specific content for employers and user-friendly job search functions for employees.
Brand validation is an important function of their website. Reynolds is bidding on projects and the clients (typically municipal clients) are doing their due diligence to ensure that Reynolds is reliable and can meet their needs.
The first part of the project involved significantly enhancing the site's content to provide in-depth information on the industries served, including mining, AEC, and heavy civil construction. This included the creation of an About Us page and industry-specific pages to visually represent the company’s operations.
The content is segmented to cater to two distinct audiences: a dedicated employer page explains the hiring process and highlights the benefits of partnering with Turner Staffing Group. For employees, content was added to dive deep into industry insights, career paths, and job opportunities—with the interactive job board being the key feature.
The job board was designed to provide a smooth user experience, with a custom API integration and search capabilities to surface relevant opportunities, even if the job title did not exactly match the search terms.
A custom plugin was developed to integrate Breezy HR and Crelate HR job listings, allowing users to search for positions by role or location. This also streamlined the admin process by only having one source of truth—the CRM software—streamlining the process of posting new jobs. The application process itself is handled through third-party platforms, with the custom plugin pulling in application URLs for seamless linking and tracking.
Additional features included a newsletter signup integrated with Mailchimp and an interactive, dynamic design system. The design incorporated custom-built modules, such as project lifecycle sliders and automatic scrolling features, to create an engaging user experience and reinforce the importance of all roles. The clean and interactive design was further enhanced by the use of TT Norms Pro typeface for readability and a human touch, while the teal accent color and strategic use of negative space make the content visually appealing.
