Peter K. Frueh has been a fixture of the Albany, NY Capital Region for over 60 years, providing excavation, underground utilities, concrete, asphalt, aggregate production, and other related services for decades.
Their previous website was outdated, lacking both relevant content and visual appeal. Their old site was not reflecting the serious depth and breadth of work the company provides, nor did it have an easy way to visualize the company's materials available through their aggregate quarry.
PKF partnered with us to design and develop a new website that reinforces their strong reputation as a leading heavy civil contractor, showcases their breadth of service offerings, and provides an overview of their aggregate products. The new site needed to validate the company’s professionalism and breadth of work while clearly conveying its culture and values.

Website
Objective
Design a visually engaging website that serves several purposes: establish a strong first impression, make their services easy to understand and navigate, and give prospective clients an idea of the professionalism and reliability they can come to expect when working with PKF.
We began the design process with a style tile exploration—we use style tiles to explore the visual language, including typography, color scheme, texture, and visual elements. The design direction we landed on was a dark theme with bold typography, strong accent colors, and subtle textural details.
Our content strategy revolved around speaking directly to their target audience: the people evaluating contractors for serious heavy civil construction projects. This audience needs to quickly understand what PKF does, how long they've been working in the field, and why they're the right contractor for the job.
The site structure covers all the necessary aspects that a prospective client or employee needs to understand their capabilities. We built out eight individual service pages, a project gallery, an About Us page showcasing their culture, a Careers page with a general job application, and clear calls-to-action to get in touch.
This website redesign reflects the culmination of 60 years of expertise and a strong project track record—reinforcing Peter K. Frueh’s reputation as a leading heavy civil construction contractor in New York.
