Capital

Web

Capital Holding Group is a family of companies that includes multiple divisions such as aggregates, quarries, trucking, hauling, paving, and construction. The company is primarily located in the Midwest, with operations in Missouri and Arkansas, and is expanding into Colorado. One of the company's key value propositions includes having many locations near the Missouri River, which allows for cost-effective aggregate transportation and holistic integration of all of their divisions and service offerings.

Capital Holding Group had already developed strong branding, messaging, and content, however, they required support in structuring the site, streamlining content-heavy pages, and reflecting the deep integration of their divisions through the user experience. Beyond showcasing their services and capabilities, Capital also needed to highlight career opportunities and workforce development to attract and potential employees.

Objective

Design a website that serves as a showcase for Capital's full range of services while reinforcing its vision of managing the entire construction process—from production to construction.

With a solid foundation in place, the challenge was not about creating a brand identity from scratch but integrating existing design elements into the website. Their well-rounded design system—featuring angles, shapes, textures, gradients, and their distinctive drill bit logo—provided a dynamic toolkit to work with.

By leveraging Capital’s design system elements thoughtfully, the goal of the mockup process was to ensure that the website would not feel static or repetitive. Their distinctive drill bit logo was repurposed in the background and incorporated into diamond-shaped patterns throughout the site. Variations in textures, gradients, and drop shadows helped differentiate site sections while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic. Service pages used an angled hero shape motif, while workforce development and company information pages incorporated a gradient hero section to create a clear visual distinction in the user journey.

Capital Holding Group’s strong internal asset library also played a crucial role in the project’s success. Their in-house team provided high-quality imagery and video content, which helped tell the company’s story in a rich and compelling way. Having access to professional visuals made a significant impact on the overall effectiveness of the website, reinforcing the company’s message and enhancing the user experience.

To enhance user engagement, the site incorporated dynamic motion elements such as animated hero sections, interactive service tiles, and animated headline accents. Features like hover-triggered video previews added an extra layer of interactivity and dynamism.

A key technical component of the project was the development of custom Beaver Builder modules. Since existing modules did not align with the desired design, custom modules were developed to ensure flexibility while maintaining the intended visual experience. This bespoke approach prioritized design first, followed by development, ensuring that the website’s layout and structure were driven by the company’s needs rather than being constrained by templates.

By leveraging an intuitive structure, dynamic design elements, and custom-built components, the site now effectively showcases the company’s full range of services while providing an engaging user experience. With a strong emphasis on storytelling through high-quality visuals and well-written content, the site positions Capital Holding Group as a leader in the industry—ready to continue expanding its impact across the Midwest and beyond.
